Johnny Graham.

"Bem jovem ainda, intenso de cor, cheio de fruto maduro, muito gordo e compacto, opulento mesmo. O tanino maduro é amparado pela sólida estrutura, o vinho é rico, envolvente, mas ao mesmo tempo fresco, muito sedutor. "

18.5 Pts, Luís Lopes, Vinho Grandes Escolhas

"Complex aromas of lead pencil shavings, blueberries, creme de cassis, and licorice emerge from this dense ruby/purple-colored 2000. Full body, sweet tannin (which provides definition), and outstanding concentration result in a seriously-endowed, finely-crafted vintage port with well-integrated tannin, acidity, and alcohol."

91 Pts, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

"The 2000 Vintage is a milestone in Churchill's history. It's the first Vintage year since we have been port producers and not 'just' Port wine shippers. The Vintage blend now includes wines produced at Quinta da Gricha. The word I would use to describe the 2000 Churchill is intensity". - Johnny Graham, 2021.

Dark and intense purple colour. Complex and concentrated on the nose. Clean and intensely focused on the palate with a good tannic structure.

Produced with old vines (on average over 50 years old) from the Cima Corgo sub-region in the Douro Valley, of which the backbone comes from the old vines of Quinta da Gricha.

THE YEAR

Dry winter, with 15/40% less rain. Warm February and March, rain in April and May. Some rain from June to August. Slow maturation: harvest delayed two weeks. Temperature in September around 40ºC. Excellent quality wines, concentrated and appealing from a young age, very evident fruit.
